ATLANTIC CROSSBAR

Tackling the Atlantic Ocean under sail is the pinnacle of every sailor's aspirations. The constant trade winds, the imposing ocean wave, and the long ocean voyages offer an unparalleled sailing experience. Beyond the technical challenge, the Atlantic crossing is a human adventure, an opportunity to rediscover the relationship with nature, strengthen the bond with the crew, and live in harmony with the sea. It is a return to the essence of life, to freedom, to adventure.

Embark on an unforgettable adventure, an Atlantic crossing from east to west that will take you to perfect your sailing techniques. Our itinerary is a crescendo of experiences: from deep-sea sailing in the heart of the Mediterranean, to the challenge of crossing Gibraltar to the Canary Islands (a true test of ocean sailing), to the transatlantic crossing, an epic journey from the Canary Islands to Martinique. Over 3 months and more than 4,000 miles (including stopovers), you can choose to join us for 1, 2 or 3 weeks, selecting the legs that most appeal to you.

Hypothetical “EAST-WEST” outbound itinerary,
from the Mediterranean to the Caribbean:

  • Italy - Southern Spain (Malaga or Almeria)

Approximately 800 miles | late September

Cagliari - Balearics - Malaga: estimated 10 days

  • Southern Spain (Malaga or Almeria) - Canary Islands

Approximately 800 miles | late October/early November

Malaga - Gibraltar - Morocco - Lanzarote: estimated 10 days

Lanzarote - Fuerteventura - Gran Canaria - Tenerife: estimated 6 days

  • Canary Islands - Caribbean

Approximately 2,900 miles | mid-November/end of November

Tenerife - Martinique: estimated 20 days

---

Spring marks a return to the Mediterranean, a demanding crossing full of challenges. Variable weather conditions and the need for careful route planning make this experience a true test for sailors. The Atlantic above 30° latitude requires skill and preparation quite different from the quieter sailing of the Trade Winds (10°-25° latitude).

Hypothetical “WEST-EAST” return itinerary,
from the Caribbean to the Mediterranean:

  • Caribbean - Azores

Approximately 2,700 miles | second half of April

Martinique or Saint Martin - Ponta Delgada (Sao Miguel Island): estimated 20 days

  • Azores - Malaga

Approximately 1,000 miles | second half of May

Ponta Delgada (Sao Miguel Island) - Gibraltar - Malaga: estimated 10 days

  • Malaga - Balearics - Cagliari

Approximately 800 miles | late May/June: estimated 10 days
